Have you ever tried affiliate marketing? If not, here is a warning! It can become addictive! As you start to earn passive, recurring income online you will become addicted. The addiction becomes stronger when you earn money without creating your own product, you just find someone else’s product to promote and pull in the money.
It’s an amazing feeling to be able to guide someone through one of your referral links and earn a commission when they purchase someone else’s product. I do it and love the challenge of finding a profitable niche and a product that will sell in that niche. Keep in mind that people are earning a lot of money by doing this every day.
People just starting out usually don’t realize you can make up to 75% commission on a single sale. I have personally made as high as a $71 commission on an eBook sale and I have sold it over and over again. The only problem is when you hit a plateau and can’t seem to get past it. Don’t worry, it happens to everyone and I will help you get over the commission hump.
Choose Your Affiliate Product Wisely
The market is literally flooded with affiliate programs on the market today. It is extremely important to choose the ones that you promote wisely. Take the extra time to make sure they relate to your website’s content and are of interest to you and your audience. Nothing can kill your website audience’s confidence in you faster than recommending a dog of a product to them. It has to add value. You work so hard to gain their trust and you certainly don’t want to ruin it by asking them to buy a bad product. Make sure it is good quality and something that you would use. Nine times out of ten if you aren’t excited by the affiliate program, no one else will be either.
Always check out the affiliate program first. Send the owner an email stating that you are considering promoting their product and would like to see if he/ she will send you a free copy. If not, you may want to order the product so that you can use it and even put it into action on a personal level before recommending it. If after trying it you believe it is something of substance and worth, more than likely so will your target audience.
One of the benefits of trying out the product first is you can also show your own results in your promotion. You can share both your positive and negative views of the product and your readers will love you for it. Not to mention the trust and respect your readers will have for you. And you can’t put a price on that.
