An Inspiring Message From Someone Who Did Not Quit!
Have you ever come across something that inspired you to keep going? I just came across an article that inspired me and I thiougt I would pass it on. It is a blog post from Judy Wright on EzineArticles.com. She is the Author Spotlight for today.
In her blog post she is answering questions about what made her successful and what motivates her, plus the other normal questions asked when completing a quesitonaire.
The finally asked her “If you had to start over again, what would you change?” This was her response:
“I’d relax and realize that I don’t have to do everything at one time. I would also quit feeling guilty because I didn’t understand or implement what I paid someone to tell me. I would conquer one aspect of marketing, like writing articles, and then move to the next. Too many times I would be frustrated because I didn’t “get it” and it seemed like everyone else did. They didn’t. They just quit trying to build an online community and I didn’t.”
Wow, did the BOLD print hit me over the head. She was frustrated because she didn’t think she “got it” and others did. Then she finally realized that others just gave up and she didn’t.
Is that you? Are you going to give up, or are you going to keep pushing and learning and applying yourself until you get where you want to go?
I know this business can be difficult and frustrating, specially if you haven’t made any money or seen any return for your hard work. Fear not, the reward is there, you just have to be better perpared than others and if that doesnt bring you success…that by golly just outlast them.
Be the one that is still standing when the dust clears and you will win in the end. The only one who can stop you is YOU…no one else. Desire, will, and determination will winout over perfection every day. Think about that when you write your next eBook, coaching program, or membership site. It doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be DONE!
Thank you Judy for your inspiration today. I will keep going and so will many others because of your words today.
Why Content is King (and killer writers not wanted)
Content is king if you want to attract readers to your blog or website. That is what Google is looking for and that is what will keep people coming back to your site over and over again.
However, writing articles all the time is difficult. Specially if you are not a professional writer (I’m definitely not a professional -:)). Fear not, content doesn’t always have to be articles. It could consist of video, PowerPoint presentation, audio, all kinds of different information channels. The one I have become better acquainted with lately is video. I love video!
Why, because depending on your writing skills it may be easier to “show” someone what you are doing or how you are doing it rather than writing about it.
Imagine looking over someones shoulder while they are creating a website, or searching for keywords, or optimizing a web page. how cool would that be. I enjoy making video’s because all I do is record the computer screen as I perform the tasks I do on a daily basis, edit it a bit, and post it to the site and BOOM…. you can see exactly what I did. And the best part…. nothing gets lost in the translation.
So…. you are thinking OK Gregg, how much is this going to cost me? Well, remember I want to bring you as much value as possible so how does FREE sound? That’s right, FREE!
The name of the product is Cam Studio. It is free and I have a free video on how to use it. I started out using Cam Studio but have progressed to “Camtasia” which is a bit more advanced and costs about $300. But you don’t need Camtasia to make video’s for content. All you need is Cam Studio and you are all set.
So why is video so good as content? Well, Google LOVES video and you might be able to get ranked for a certain keyword a lot sooner with video than an article.
Think about it. Google owns YouTube. Now who do you think they will push up in the rankings if you post something? An article posted at EzineArticles.com or a video at YouTube? R I G H T….exactly. See how this works? And you don’t have to be a pro either.
So fire up your Flip Mino or just record your computer screen with Cam Studio, either way, you need to get started producing video’s today.
Do you think you can do this or is this too complicated? Please leave a comment below.
Are You Using Video to Market Your Products?
I am trying to tie in the previous article and start with a question. Are you using video to market your products? If the answer is no then please give it another look.
Video used to be difficult and cumbersome. Heck, I still have an old VHS camcorder that sits in my office and collects dust. I could never get the proper cords or jacks to connect to the computer and download the video. And when I finally did, it cost me an arm and a leg. OLD, old, old!
Last year I bought a Flip Mino from Sam’s Club. It is a great little camera (they even make it in High Def……wooooo) and so easy to use I can even do it. No cables required, in fact, “flip” open the USB port from the side of the camera and start your upload. It is as simple as that. The software is contained in the camera and your video is on your computer ready to edit or upload to YouTube in minutes!
Now you have no excuse to not use video, plus, you can get one of these little buggers for $150 and maybe even less. I worthwhile investment for sure.
Now lets discuss how to make a video to sell your product or service. After hanging around this internet bizz awhile and getting on a bazillion mailing lists I learned one thing for sure……if your want to learn video….learn from the best! And the best is Andy Jenkins.
Andy is formerly from Stompernet fame and they all are worth over another bazillion dollars so they must know something. Andy is the video guys and he is into something really cool called The Video Boss. To introduce it he is giving away some great info on how to make a video “the right way”. When Andy talks about video, we all listen….lol
If you aren’t using video yet, you will be after you see this so give it a look and please drop me a note and tell me what is your biggest fear about video. I might be able to help you, and that is what it is all about, isn’t it?

One of the keys to driving traffic to your blog is new content. Creating new content is as easy as recording a short video or writing a short article. That is actually the more difficult than posting it on line. If you are just starting out, don’t fear this task as it is simple and you can not break anything -:)
