Complete List of My Traffic Geyser Posting Sites

taffic geyser listI was a member of Traffic Geyser for a year or so and simply loved it for pushing out content quickly and easily (once you were all set up -:)). I am still getting hits to some affiliate products that I promoted and I highly recommend Traffic Geyser if you have the extra $97 each month. But for me it was time for an experiment utilizing my new found knowledge of free products.

Plus, after a while I found some free resources, including Tube Mogul, did the important stuff so I have gone the free route for a while to check it out.

Before leaving Traffic Geyser I wanted to make a list of all the accounts that I signed up for while setting up my account there.

The list is pretty darn good so after breaking it out for review I thought I would share it with you.

The list includes Videos Sites, Podcast Sites, Social Bookmarking Sites, Status Sites and Article Submission Sites,

A total of 81 sites excluding the Blog Sites (which you enter your own).

Here they are broken down by category.

Five Ways to Remain Unproductive

man playing video game on his lap top computerHave you ever sat down at your computer to write an article or get some work done only to have the time slip by and you have nothing accomplished? I have gradually been sucked into this trap recently and before I knew it my productivity had sunk to an all time low. Here is a list of five things to avoid when it is time to be productive.

Email

I am addicted to many of these items but especially email. Why? Well…as soon as you start making money online you will know what I am talking about. I constantly check my email for additional sales or leads. This can take two minutes or thirty minutes depending on whether I received any meaningful email. Set some time aside to look at your email and only look at it during that time. This alone will make you much more productive.

Twitter

Twitter is a major suck on time. Once you log in and see the activity going on the time just flies by. Don’t give in to this temptation. I have created a routine were most of my “tweets” are automated when I post something to my blog so I don’ get engaged in a conversation and waste valuable time. Look into setting up automatic posts through a Wordpress plugin on your self hosted blog.

Facebook

Facebook is exploding with over 400 million members and you should be involved with the community. Set aside some time to review and update your Facebook account but stay away from the “chat” feature. When this is enabled others can see when you log on. All it takes is one instant message from a friend and work time is long gone. I added up the unproductive time I was spending on Facebook and decided to cut it way down (I won’t tell you the result because it would scare you…it did me!)

Instant Messages

Turn your instant message feature off when working. Just like Facebook, all you need to distract you is one interruption and twenty, thirty minutes or more are gone. Save it for time you do not have set aside for work and enjoy it then. You will be glad you did.

Cell Phone

Cell phones can be a real asset and a real time waster all at the same time. During work hours I usually let everything go to voicemail unless I receive back to back call which usually indicates an emergency or someone really wants to speak with me. If it is general information most people will leave a message and you can return the call at your leisure.

So that is the Top Five Ways to Remain Unproductive. Constantly checking email, logging in to Twitter or Facebook more than once per day, leaving your instant message feature on while working, and answering your cell phone. Manage these as I have started to do and you will see a marked improvement in your overall productivity.

An Inspiring Message From Someone Who Did Not Quit!

Have you ever come across something that inspired you to keep going? I just came across an article that inspired me and I thiougt I would pass it on. It is a blog post from Judy Wright on EzineArticles.com. She is the Author Spotlight for today.

In her blog post she is answering questions about what made her successful and what motivates her, plus the other normal questions asked when completing a quesitonaire.

The finally asked her “If you had to start over again, what would you change?” This was her response:

“I’d relax and realize that I don’t have to do everything at one time. I would also quit feeling guilty because I didn’t understand or implement what I paid someone to tell me. I would conquer one aspect of marketing, like writing articles, and then move to the next. Too many times I would be frustrated because I didn’t “get it” and it seemed like everyone else did. They didn’t. They just quit trying to build an online community and I didn’t.”

Wow, did the BOLD print hit me over the head. She was frustrated because she didn’t think she “got it” and others did. Then she finally realized that others just gave up and she didn’t.

Is that you? Are you going to give up, or are you going to keep pushing and learning and applying yourself until you get where you want to go?

I know this business can be difficult and frustrating, specially if you haven’t made any money or seen any return for your hard work. Fear not, the reward is there, you just have to be better perpared than others and if that doesnt bring you success…that by golly just outlast them.

Be the one that is still standing when the dust clears and you will win in the end. The only one who can stop you is YOU…no one else. Desire, will, and determination will winout over perfection every day. Think about that when you write your next eBook, coaching program, or membership site. It doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be DONE!

Thank you Judy for your inspiration today. I will keep going and so will many others because of your words today.

Lets Connect – Post Your Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Blog Urls Here

I just came across a great article from Brian Hawkins on connecting and sharing links at The Extreme Ezine. This could create a good amount of back links for everyone if we all do this correctly (no spam, advertising links, squeeze pages, etc).

Just think about the amount of “link juice” we can create if we all subscribed to each others Blog, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube accounts and leave comments. I’ll leave a comment to get us started.

Leave your links and I will reciprocate. Come on everyone! Lets get “JUICED”!

Adding a YouTube Channel to Your Traffic Generation List

A great way to drive additional traffic to your main site is to create a YouTube channel to hub all your videos. This can be an excellent source of free traffic and we all can use more free traffic, cant we?

I started my YouTube video channel for The Guru Hub. Check it out to see all the videos I have posted.

I started The Guru Hub to create content to help others get started online. The plan was to base it a round a series of “how to ” videos to show you exactly how I did a lot of the things I did. There just isn’t anything better than video do accomplish this.

Along the way I started posting most of the videos to YouTube to create some additional free traffic but never knew it could all have a “home” for free on YouTube.

Your YouTube Channel will be your place to hub all your videos and pre-sell your cutomers on stopping by your main site. There are a couple main items that you should include or focus around to make this happen. I picked up some of this from Julie Perry who is now at Blast Media and has created an informative blog post called “7 Ways to Get Website Traffic From YouTube” on this topic.

First things first, remember the goal of your videos and your YouTube channel, to pre-sell your customers on a specific product, your business, your service, or all of the above. Keep this in mind as you create your videos (if you need help creating videos I have a free “how to ” video here)

Next, always lead off with your description with your main page URL. And make sure it is “clickable”! By this I mean add http:// to the front of your web address. This will make your web address a link to your site. This is very important because you want people to be able to click right over to your site quickly while you have their attention.

Try your hand at creating and customizing your YouTube channel and I will create a followup post on how to customize your channel a bit later, but for now just get it up and running as it can be a great traffic generator for you.
